Is your ISP blocking you?

Gosh, your ISP is blocking access to certain websites? What a crazy country you live in!

Read an article about freedom of the Internet that speaks about blocking access in this archaic country where people surely live on trees.

If it ever happens to your country, god-forbid, you can try the following. (Please take note: we do not take responsibility if your Internet access is affected after trying the following).

1. Click on your start button, and right click on Network, then select Properties. Oh, this works for Microsoft Windows Vista. Ask if you need help for other OSes.

2. Then click on Manage network connections.

3. Select the connection you use. If on wi-fi, right click on Wireless Network Connection, but if wired with a LAN cable, select Local Area Connection instead. Then once again, select Properties.

4. A window like this will open up, highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click Properties.

5. Leave the first part as is – you might have the IP address filled in already. Instead, scroll to the next portion, and select Use the following DNS server addresses. Fill in any of the following IP addresses.

6. Then click OK, and it should work! You can now fire up your web browser, and surf to that website which you think has been blocked.
