Launch of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X
Throw luxury out the window, slap on raw power, menacing looks and what do you get? The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, that’s what.
The Evo X was officially unveiled to the KL public on the 21st of August, and a few very lucky Integricitizens were on hand to witness its launch. Oh boy, were we impressed!
Now, for those of you who know a thing or two about cars – you’d have to agree that the Evo isn’t just a car. The Evo X hails from a long line of Japanese thoroughbred racing machines. Ask any hot-blooded male and he’s probably, at some point of his life, daydreamed about owning one. All one needs as proof is to spot the countless Wira-lutions (Proton Wiras modified and dressed to look like Evos) that litter the streets of KL and suburbs of our beloved Bolehland.
All the buzz that the car has created is quite amazing really. We’ve seen The Evo X swallow up the competition, and run rings (literally!) around the Subaru Impreza – watch Jeremy Clarkson’s Top Gear review here.
So it was only appropriate that we created a website befitting of the car’s stature. And as a result, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X microsite was born – to the delight of car purists and boy racers alike!
We interviewed the men behind the project:
Nick: We had completed the website ahead of schedule, but two days before the launch, we were given the final finalized photos! Needless to say, we spent sleepless nights making changes.
Alex Au-yong: The last minute photo and copy changes were quite stressful for me. But it certainly helped that the client was accommodating and understood or predicament. That helped us manage expectations.
What was the best thing about working on this project?
Nick: We worked with great clients who were totally supportive and understanding, and were rewarded for our hard work with invites to the launch of the car and Mitsubishi freebies.
Alex Au-yong: Nick and I have been promised a chance to test drive the Evo X! *Yum* Also, Kok Foong and Adeline are easy to work with. It’s great that they’ve entrusted the product to us. It’s a good product too, so working with it is a lot of fun.
You’re one of the first people in Malaysia to see the Evo X. How does it feel?
Nick: Speechless…
Alex Au-yong: *Drools* I’ve been eating, living and breathing the Evo for the past month, so I got a chance to really get into the “rally, speedy sports mode”. It’s a beauty and has some kick-ass specs.
Any interesting bytes to add on?
Alex Au-yong: I never really had a passion for fast cars before because I just started driving 8 months ago. But all that’s changed now! I’ve gotten very involved with the project because I’m learning something new. It certainly helps that the Evo X is truly a good product. It makes me want to make sure that each of its strengths is highlighted!
