The last few months have indeed been challenging for us all: the global financial crisis, geopolitical uncertainties, and most disastrously, Liverpool losing their top spot in the Premier League to Manchester Urgh-nited.
Enough to make most people really worried, but we Malaysians are a resilient lot. We can blame everything on the government (and now we have both the BN and Pakatan to blame, yay!) and still eat, eat and eat. If the Chinese New Year crowds in restaurants are to be taken as any indicator: "What recession?!"
In that we are truly blessed: we have more than enough to eat, our country isn't being bombed to bits, and Liverpool will surely still be Champions come May. Yes, we've had to be prudent. And yes, we will have to work even harder this year to deliver greater value in these challenging times.
But I'm inspired by – and grateful to God for – the many little things that we've been blessed with. Like the agency who insisted on paying us a cancellation fee for an aborted project. Even though they wouldn't be getting anything from the end client! Thank you, not so much for offering to pay, but for letting us know that we were so very valuable as long-term partners. And that you were prepared to choose us, and our relationship, over the easy way out.
Here's to even greater relationships and partnerships this year.
Happy Chinese New Year and God bless all of you!
Fanatically yours,
